Friendship Circle Supporters make a special commitment to support Tibetans in Tibet by providing steady, reliable core funding for TVP. Thanks to your monthly pledge, we know we will have the funds when needed to respond to emergencies and sustain ongoing program work. For example, the dedication and generosity of Friendship Circle supporters have made it possible for TVP to:

• Provide emergency relief for Yushu earthquake victims such as food, medicine, clothes and winterized tents for 300 families in 2010.

• Distribute school supplies, warm blankets and clothes, textbooks, and supplemental food for over 1200 rural school students.

• Build greenhouses for school children in Tibet that provide food, promote healthier diet and generates income.

• Organize employable skills training such as motorbike repairs, business management, and eco-tourism so they have a chance to compete of finding a job or working their own.

• Help to establish over 63 micro-enterprises through start-up grant and enterprise loan in rural villages and townships where about 80% of Tibetans still live and maintain strong cultural identities.

TVP is one of the only few Tibetan NGOs established by Tibetans to help themselves in Tibet. NGOs operate in very politically sensitive environment and take risk in daily basis to help others.
