What
has TVP accomplished since it started in 2001?
1. Assisted in building one school that now has 95 students. Since then, TVP has
shifted its focus towards supporting schools that are already built but are having
difficulty staying in operation due to a lack of funding and materials. Thus,
approximately 1200 students including orphans benefited in 10 schools through
stipends, tuition, food, warm blankets and clothes, textbooks, and other school
supplies. Learn more.
2. Assisted
in the building of one clinic and secured two clinic spaces from the local government
as a way of leveraging the funding and collaborating effectively. Thus, three
clinics and one mobile clinic benefit more then 3,200 patients annually
through treatment and prevention programs. Learn

3.
Renovated or rebuilt four bridges that now provide safe passage to schools, clinics,
farms, monasteries, shops, and major roads for more then 8,000 people including
elders and school children. Learn more.
4.
Established a skills training and business development program for 25 unemployed
youngsters (mostly girls) so they will be empowered to help themselves and their
communities. Learn more.
5. Developed
Conscious Journeys, a volun-tourism program to Tibet that balances touring and
volunteerism through cultural immersion, environmental education, community service,
and adventure travel. The focused and well-coordinated program takes approximately
10-12 volun-tourists to Tibet each summer. Participants describe the program as
'a life changing experience.' Learn more.
6.
Educated about 20,000 people about all aspects of Tibetan culture and sustainable
development through exhibits, films, presentations, and discussions in more than
50 locations, including universities, libraries, churches, community centers and
other public venues across the US. Learn
