Photos from Lungsho Bridge Project

A hanging bridge originally built by the Chinese government after a tragic boat accident that killed twelve people in 1986. After seventeen years of heavy use, the bridge needed repair. This bridge is a central point of contact for transportation routes, schools, clinics and shipments of commercial merchandise. The bridge is used by animals, tractors, and over 6000 people including school children from many different villages in the Lungsho region. Read more.
Kids across this bridge dangerously everyday and here is what a villager said after it was fixed. "I cross this bridge four times a day to take my granddaughter back and forth for schooling and I pray for you every time I pass this bridge. I am sure that two to three hundred people who cross this bridge every day also pray for you."

After the repair work was done.
About 40 villagers came to help and this was during a tea break. They all were very happy.
