TVP is excited to introduce our FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE- MONTHLY GIVING PROGRAM. Both effective and convenient, monthly giving sustains TVP’s critical projects over the course of one or even several years. By contributing $10, $20, $50, or $100 each month, you will insure that families in need get warm tents, schools get teachers and books, villages have access to medical supplies, and business loans are provided to encourage economic independence and stability.
In 2011, TVP will direct every dollar raised by our Friendship Circle toward Yushu earthquake recovery efforts. If, for example, 50 people each gave $35 per month, TVP will have $1,750 per month, or $21, 000 per year, to provide business loans for women, warm tents for families, and scholarships for students who lost their parents in the earthquake. You as a member of TVP’s FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE will receive a monthly project report with photo documentation summarizing the progress and success of your giving program and generous participation. Your past contributions enabled us to continue our relief effort on the ground by focusing on areas that are getting the least support from the government and other aid agencies (filling an important gap). For example, a group of medical volunteers treating patients needed two extra tents and more medicine. TVP was able to immediately fill that gap to ensure patients received care promptly. One of the campgrounds has a huge sanitation problem with overflowing waste. TVP has purchased 10,000 reusable garbage bags and helped to organize local volunteers to clean up the grounds. When families with children needed winterized tents, TVP was able to respond quickly.
